On the steep slopes of the Aravali mountain range, north of Jobner in the India state of Rajasthan, Andrew Rogers sets out to create two monumental geoglyphs; his signature work 'The Rhythms Of Life' and a chosen work by the elders of the area - "The Ascend" based on the fibernachi spiral of the sunflower.

Rajasthan, a large state in northwestern India, is the homeland of the Rajputs, who are known for their chivalry, valour and heroism. In battle the Rajputs preferred death to dishonour, while in friendship they were generous to a fault. In ancient times, this land was known as Rajaputana. The present state of Rajasthan has been formed by the union of twenty-two former princely states such as Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer. The Aravali mountain range divides the state into eastern and western halves and provides a spectacular visual setting: large expanses of rocky land and sandy desert interspersed with forest and burning sands, shimmering lake palaces, innumerable temples, and fortresses give this episode a visual edge. The hardships of the desert inspire rich colour and pageantry amongst its people and the 1000 stoneworkers, largely women, who populate this massive outdoor land-art site.
